About Us
Crossroads 4x4 Hire was founded in 2002 and started out as a
small, one-man show. Owner Basie Oosthuizen has always had a
penchant for the outdoors, off-road driving and camping –
and so this small business grew close to his heart.
Crossroads 4x4 Hire took off within a few short months and
soon his wife, Karen, had to step in, allowing Basie a sigh
of relief. However, what he didn’t know – even after 30
years of marriage – was that Karen had even bigger things in
mind! After realising there was a clear gap in the market
for holiday-makers whose camping holiday requirements needed
to be met, they gave Crossroads 4x4 Hire a fresh overhaul.
Being avid campers themselves, Basie and Karen put their own
experience to good use and expanded the vehicle hire into
the ultimate camping experience. Nothing was overlooked. The
result? A camping holiday second to none!

At Crossroads 4x4 Hire we not only provide you with a 100%
reliable vehicle, we also include a roof-top tent, complete
with crisp, clean linen and essentials such as camping
chairs and table. Not forgetting the finer details, your
camping kit will even include items such as washing pegs and
toilet paper. We also cater for mini-campers, supplying
small children with miniature camping chairs.
Not
forgetting the most important part of a successful camping
experience, we’ll ensure that you never go hungry. Namibia
offers some of the best local cuisine in the world and our
3, 5 and 7 day menus will attest to that.
Because
Crossroads 4x4 Hire thrives on catering for the individual
needs of our customers, we’ll do our utmost to deal with any
special requests. For instance, we provide vehicles for all
avid anglers, the South African Protea Angling Team being
among our satisfied customers. Furthermore we also take our
customers to and from Walvis Bay International Airport upon
their arrival and departure – free of charge. Pick-ups and
drop-offs are also being done at Windhoek International

Before any vehicle is delivered, a thorough inspection is
carried out by our competent staff to
ensure that your vehicle is mechanically sound and ready for
the trip.
All equipment is also checked, cleaned and packed with the
outmost care. All you have to do is
enjoy your camping vacation, the beautiful Namibia
landscape, friendly people and our wildlife
along road and various game parks and lodges.
